Thy Will Be Done

Today was the first competition of the season! It was much different that we were used to, but still, it was really good!

To begin, we were actually missing one of our team members. He and his family were in New York, so we just had two drivers at this competition. Unfortunately, we weren't really as prepared as we needed to be, and therefore we didn't have a STEM report. We were also very limited on driving practice. Our goal was simply to shine the light of Jesus...and qualify for State. :)

It just so happens, that we did both.

Unfortunately, I wasn't there for the whole competition (actually, most of us weren't), but we ended up at first place by the end of the qualifiers, which is when we got there. It was stressful, because a lot of the points depends on getting both robots on a bridge, and then balancing the bridge. This is what eventually caused our downfall, because in the final match, we didn't get either robot fully on the bridge. Our totally final score was 22. We came in third. This was a slightly new thing for all of us, considering we have never lost a local teamwork alliance.

Through it all, we continued serving and pouring out the Light of Jesus upon the world. After the competition, we went around and helped with some clean up, and got to congratulate many teams. Despite our loss, the real end goal (being love) more important, and from what I could see, we we did just that.

We didn't win skills, but we came away with three trophies: Skills, Design, and Excellence. Getting the Excellence qualified us for State! We totally didn't expect to get the Excellence, so it was super exciting when we did!

Overall, it was a great day! Though it might have been a little messy at times, we did what we were called to do. God knew exactly what was going to happen today, and I hope He magnifies it in ways that we could never imagine.
